ARTICLE: Why do kids quit football?

#7. They Don't like the coach. "To me, this has always been the biggest cop out response from youth, and it sets a dangerous precedent because as they grow older you have to think that train of thought will not service them when they encounter a boss they don't like, or a teacher they don't like. Quitting, and using that as a reason, starts kids down a very, very slippery slope."

-you hear this from the kids that didn't get playing time or it wasn't fun.
-you also here this from the parents of the kids that encourage their kids to drop a sport and specialize in one sport. "Well, the coach sucks, so I will just play baseball." or "I'll just concentrate on wrestling all year. The football coach sucks anyways."
-or folks like Justthatfax: "Well, the coach sucks. I don't blame kids for just wanting to play basketball only."

Unless you are at a top Class 6 school, there are few reasons to specialize. If you are a top-notch college prospect for a sport, by all means, specialize. But if you are hustling to get a walk-on at Fabor Community College for baseball, then you have no reason to specialize in baseball only, claiming the FB sucks, since you only got in 1/3 of the plays on D. That's just lame.

blah, blah, blah...joeblowsfootballers with another hot take. Adults don't want to work for sh_itty bosses - or bosses that bang their moms. Kids don't want to play for sh_itty coaches - or coaches that bang their milfy moms.

Greg Jones is an outstanding coach, his players would run through a brick wall for him (that's why you see him winning/in title games.) Josh Gray was a sh_itty head coach - the majority of kids would open a door for him (that's why you see him fired.)

Can't help it if you're too stupid to face facts son.
