Trinity Catholic travels to LaSalle, Ohio, and lays a 33-0 haymaker on a traditional Ohio power! CONVERSELY, Colerain, the #1 team in Ohio, beat LaSalle 23-0! In addition, Trinity, as you may know, barely lost to East St. Louis in 3OT's! East St . Louis lost by six points, to the #3 ranked team in Ohio, Massillon Washington! I for one, vote for giving credit where it's DUE!:)

They appear to be getting their fair share of street creds on the national messageboard!

La Salle sucks. 4-4 now. Yawn.

Believers? I am not sure I have ever seen anyone on here doubt the talent at Trinity. I have seen people turned off with the way a high school team was put together to beat Lamar, (which they could not do) and they purposely jump up to try to win a state title. I have seen people turned off by the fact that they openly recruit and dont have any ramifications from it. But, I have yet to see anyone doubt that they are good.

I won’t argue that they’re obscenely talented. I will argue that they’re “good”.

NO, OBSCENELY talented would be the GRAYSON RAMS, of Loganville, Georgia! They didn't beat us EITHER though!:p Grayson has TEN major DI verbal commits, on their DEFENSE alone!

Cassville turbos them. Stamp it

WHAT makes Cassville the SHEEEEEAAAAAT? My boys didn't turbo them, and we're pretty good for a little country school in Southwest Georgia!;)

OOOOOPSEE, I just saw where Cassville whupped MIGHTY LA MAR! With you boys whacky playoff system! Does that mean that LA MAR in DONE?

Game meant nothing to Lamar other than losing the conference championship and the nation's longest winning streak

Lamar is class two and cassville is class 3 . They will both make it to at least the semifinals in their class . I don't see cassville beating Trinity and I give Lamar a 50% chance of winning state . BO and LN are stacked

I’m joking, but I’m predicting someone other than Trinity wins state.

Colquitt could have won by 60 if they wanted to. I have the feeling the packers wanted to make it look like a game and didn’t put JV in for more than two quarters like they could have.

Trinity’s number 1 goal is to maximize their players’ development and exposure, with the intent of giving them the opportunity to help pay for a college education with an athletic scholarship. Trinity didn’t increase enrollment to avoid Lamar. That’s a ludicrous statement, but you have as much of a right to be wrong as anyone else. Disliking MSHSAA’s rules doesn’t mean that following them is cheating. Trinity does what EVERY private/parochial school in Missouri does. I’ve yet to see you crying about CBC, Vianney, Valle or Chaminade.

Aren’t you tired of copying and pasting this yet? You have every right to think it’s ok because it’s in the rules all you want. And everyone else in the state who cares can think it’s wrong based on all advantages it gives. This argument is a dead horse that’s been beaten into the ground. Let people bitch about it. People are not going to complain about teams that don’t effect the team they care for, or have kids on. Stop.

Didn't you boys say that Class TWO was SUPERIOR to Class THREE? When Trinity wins the head to head, won't you boys be in a funk?

That’s not OBSCENELY talented, that’s ludicrous (even verging on blasphemous) talent.

And on O, they are just about as talented! This edition of Grayson, is more talented than the ones who had Denzel and Robert Nkemdiche, and Clemson National Champion RB, Wayne Gallman. And the Rams also sent current Clemson QB, Chase Brice and a current Michigan RB, and DB Deangelo Gibbs to UGA!

The GHSA turns a blind eye to anything Gwinnett county! It's musical chairs for athletes, in that county with a population a biscuit under 900,000!

Lil ole rural Colquitt County counters with the greatest coach in America, and a sixty man rotation, that keeps us fresh throughout the game! We don't have the four and five stars! But what we DO have, is a great nutritional program, and a state of the art strength and conditioning program! And very good HIGH SCHOOL players, who will run through a brick wall for their coaches and community!

Well, in DEEfense of Trinity! Colquitt has probably the best D in the country! Most of our points allowed, are due to a blown assignments and third string reserves, rather than being overpowered on a given play! Coach ProPst, in his thirty years of coaching at Colquitt, and Hoover, et al.! Has said that this is the quickest and most physical defense he's ever had! And they have a monster MG in the middle, at 6'0", 315lbs.! And two shutdown corners, one of whom was just offered by DBU, LSU, and a Sophomore DE who may become the best defensive player in Colquitt County history! And they just graduated the #1 OLB in the country, in 2017!

ACTUALLY, our D and Special Teams, is why we are averaging 40 plus per game! They've accounted for maybe 100 of our 350 points to date! Our normally five speed O is operating in probably third gear in week eight! Our leading ball carrier has 700 yards rushing! And we had better get it in gear, before the second round of the 7A playoffs, or we MAY be TOAST!

I actually didnt give my opinion on the subject. I said that I have not seen anyone doubt their talent. I went on to mention things that I have seen posted about them. It was crazy asking if folks are believers yet,,,As far as those other private schools, you dont know whether I have said anything about them or not.

This right here is funny. I have seen video on this team and Trinity, and Trinity is far more talented. Their last coach leaving for the Univ of IL was also good for them as their new head coach has them playing much better ball as a team. To think Cassville will beat them is one thing, bit turbo them? Comical.

I give Trinity 88% chance of winning class 3. They have a real coach this year not a showboat...
Cardinal Ritter, Cassville, Maryville, & Odessa are the teams that will have a shot at them.

I brought this team to the attention of this board in 2016 how this team was brought together. I do not blame the kids at all for exposure they are getting to play at the next level. But the way the coach shopped the kids around to different schools to the highest bidder to get himself a job is just not right. (pulled the same crap to get a job at U of IL saying he get some of those kids to play for him there).

You can cry and moan about how unfair you think the rules are, but I’M beating a dead horse because I respond to your bellyaching with the fact that MSHSAA’s rules don’t revolve around rural Missouri public school fans on a message board. Feel free to ignore my posts if you don’t like them. Not everyone’s adult lives revolve around what they accomplished playing small-town, small school football in a dying rural community. I’ll post what I want, WHEN I want. It’s not like you know anything about what you comment on here anyway.

You wrote that they intentionally moved up to avoid Lamar. If you were just posting what you’d heard someone else told you, then that’s different than what you posted. It is what it is, but don’t throw a rock and then hide your hands. Feel however you choose to feel and I’ll do the same. Actually, I DO know what you’ve posted and haven’t. There’s a index here of comments and posts people have made. It’s an anonymous online message board. Why would you try and walk back how you feel and what you’ve said? Man up. Smh

Corey Patterson took a job at Trinity and his kid’s parents sent them there because of it. I’d be SHOCKED if he didn’t recruit them to do so, since he was already their coach. I’m gonna need more than just you saying that he “shopped them around to the highest bidder to get himself a job” at Trinity or at Illinois before I believe it though. It is t against MSHSAA rules for kids to follow their coach to a high school and it isn’t against the rules for private schools to recruit 8th graders. If you’ve got proof that Patterson “shopped” his kids then I’d love to see it. I’m sure Illinois hired him hoping he’d get Trinity players there because they DEFINITELY have him STL as his recruiting territory expecting him to use his relationships with Area coaches and players to get other kids, too. Maybe it shocks you to learn THAT isn’t illegal, either? The internet is your friend. Don’t take my word for it. Look for yourself. But there’s no need to make up stuff.

Agree with all of this.

Trinity did not move up to avoid Lamar. I don’t think anyone honestly believes that. However their previous coach is on record (Post Dispatch) admitting to what would be a violation on MSHSSA rules. There was just no desire apparently by MSHSAA to look into it.
FWIW I think Lutheran North and Trinity both win titles this year though I will be rooting for Lamar and Cassville to prove me wrong.

When you say Patterson admitted to violating MSHSAA rules, do you mean THIS quote?

“I coached youth football in St. Louis for 13 years,” Patterson said, pointing to practicing players he’s known since then. “People don’t know that. That’s why they make assumptions. They don’t know these kids are going to play for me anyway. I don’t have to chase people down.”

Your second sentence is the real difference about Trinity this year, and I agree. Patterson was never a good coach in my opinion and he was flat outcoached against Reed when they played LN last year for the district championship. I could tell from what they knew coach had the team doing over the summer and in practices that he gets it and would have them playing good team ball together. Coach TC knows what he's doing and don't think it will be over for them when this class leaves. They have a bunch of talented juniors contributing significant minutes and word is there are some pretty good freshmen coming in.

I hear what you’re saying. I’m not naive enough to think that he didn’t recruit his guys to follow him to Trinity but that quote isn’t him admitting to recruiting. It’s him admitting that his kids (and their parents) sent their kids to Trinity because he was going to be the coach there and they’d have sent them to any other school he coached at, because he knew them as their youth coach. The thing is, it’s not against MSHSAA rules for parents to send their kid to a private school AS 8TH GRADERS entering HS ... even because they want to play for a specific coach. Sure, it’s splitting hairs and the result is the same, but it still is within the rules.
