Wouldn't all starters be playing? If they weren't playing, they wouldn't be starters. You can be a player and not a starter. But it's pretty hard to be a starter and not a player.

There is nothing I would love more than for every school to stream their games and force MSHSAA's hand on this stupid money grab they've done on district games.
I get paywalling or controlling video of the championship game, it's at a neutral site, it's expensive. Their production is lousy yes but at least they actually provide something.
What I loathe is every other game leading up to it where they don't do any work, don't rent a site, but still paywall the games. Total and complete BS.
I don't either. It is absolutely insane.
If MSHSAA wants to take on the burden of actually covering the games and charging for it, OK go for it.
But don't jump in and try to make money off JETHD or KNEO or whoever for buying the equipment and doing all the work while MSHSAA does LITERALLY NOTHING in districts except put a bracket together and say who plays who.
What prevents a kid from sueing and getting money for NIL if someone else is making money off of a game you are playing?
Given MSHSAA gets the gate money, they probably offer a lousy broadcast to encourage in person attendance.
You think they could pull off that level of incompetence on purpose?

I think it’s something they specialize in. They’re too incompetent to follow that line of thinking, but stumble into the outcome regardless. All because, you know, they kinda suck.
I’ve wondered this too. Again, I just go back to why the district doesn’t just tell them to eff off on this one. We stream games all season. Nothing changes, production or anything, except the portal used to stream. Damnedest thing ever.
I posted this last year but I'll post again . I have a ton of problems with what they are doing . If it was just the state championship I'd get it . But they literally do nothing . Tonight for instance I went ahead and payed the $10 to watch the Webb game bc I have covid and can't go. Kneo still did all the work ... broadcast was literally theirs and they just get robbed by mshaa . It's pretty messed up but my biggest problem is the states bs streaming site doesn't have an "all share" icon so I can't stream it to my tv or Roku or Chromecast. I watched it on my 6 inch screen instead of my 75 inch tv which I can do with any other wc broadcast
Small schools have the issue of bad internet connections A LOT.
Just a greedy money grab. Maybe they need raises?
I agree with MSHSAA screwing schools and people over.
But if you have a laptop, get yourself and HDMI cable and hook up to TV and computer. Then you can watch on your TV, that's what I do.
I have a work lab top I can work remotely on but the work antivirus won't allow me on hardly any sights
