Another new league

Is the SWC following through with urging the non-11-man football teams to leave? I only ask this as I read a local paper’s coverage of the recent Lockwood board meeting and they were expressing concern on it, then we see Pleasant Hope make this move.

Recapping:

Ozark Mountain formed.

Ozark Conference dissolves, several OC members join the Central Ozark Conference.

Ozark Highlands Conference, changes?

Greater Ozarks Conference forms, and must be laughing at everyone after choosing this “topper” name!

Wasn't Lockwood one of the leaders in the disbanding of the SRVC to get away from 8-man football teams like Jasper and Liberal? Would be justice if something similar happened to them.

Not sure if they were a leader in it, but they went for the ride. A couple of years ago, they tried to get into the WEMO for football-only, but got denied. There’s really no reason to let them in, when they, along with College Heights and Greenfield, are guaranteed non league foes for the WEMO teams. Who else will they play for 8-man in this geographical area? However, if the SWC does remove them from membership, then they’ll be in Greenfield’s shoes for at least a little while.
