Alt seasons?

Is it all or none (either play this fall or delay till March 12th)? What if you get 3 games in the fall then schools shut down? Can you play again in March?

Yes they can play in fall and if shut down due to covid then they can request access to the fall alternative season from MSHSAA.

That is the deadline. But after the 11th if you are shut down due to covid you can request access from MSHSAA to play in the alt. fall season.

Deadline is to declare whether you play in the fall or spring

Like I’ve stated before: stereo instructions

You ought to take one of their rules tests:

1) If player A punts the football to player B’s former brother’s roommate during high winds, but low barometric pressure, can coach A call a timeout if Coach B’s wife paid the rent two weeks early, noting a clear gibbous moon has no affect on the psi of a standard football?
Pretty sure that’s a point of emphasis this year so make sure you are familiar with the 10 different interpretations you’ll get

The important thing is to make sure no one has a sweat band above the elbow or a towel that is two inches too long or wide or has a swoosh on it. Come on.
I know it just pisses me off when players on a team use towels that are to long and some that might be the opposite school color from their teammate. It creates a huge competitive advantage.;););)

Depends on if it's a waxing gibbous or waning gibbous

My favorite new allowance this year is social distancing your players from 10-10. Same players that have been practicing against each other for the last month+.

Does allow coaches a reason to stick THAT ONE kid on the opposite end of the field......

I want to see someone develop the social distancing pad for 100 players, like the pad for special teams. That sure would be fun rolling that out every Friday night.

I’m really hoping for a presser where a mshsaa official will explain in obscene detail the entire procedure and plans for playing and managing sports. I hope it goes like that official on Long Island a few months ago that made headlines awkwardly explaining the detailed procedures for playing tennis “safely” as if she was talking to kindergarteners about playground rules. You can play tennis BUT each player must have their own balls. Do not touch the other players balls. You can kick them back to each other but DO NOT touch them. If the other player is a member of your household you CAN touch the balls. To keep your balls separate from other players, use a black marker to put an X on them.

Aside from the unintended comical nature of the comments, it illustrates why people are so frustrated with the whole thing. The level of control and proceduralization of so many otherwise simple things, down the n’th degree has become idiotic. Yes there are some cases where certain rules make sense, but so many of the procedures and controls defy logic. Like shortening hours of operation, or forcing all customers to funnel in and out of one exit while the other two are closed “for safety”. Or closing waiting areas but not eliminating the need to wait. The dumb overreaching control causes people to tune out and reject the measures that might actually make sense.
