All-East Class 4 Final

With all the BS us west people talk, I don't think an all-East Class 4 Final would be that shocking this year.

Ladue and Parkway North are pretty good football teams and the West is down. What do you guys think about the likelihood of this occurring?

Is the west down solely because of Webb City being eliminated ? I will take nothing away from the Gateway teams, because I have not seen them in person. I can say that Kearney and Harrisonville are not chopped liver. At the very least, your statement is premature...

Unless St. Louis builds nwalls around NWMO and makes us pay for it I think the west side will be OK.

Tophat or Daddy would be better to answer question than me but I think the consensus opinion is that Kearney probably isn't as good this year as last year. That said, they probably don't need to be. Webb City was clearly in a rebuilding year. IMO in SWMO part of bracket I don't think West Plains was as strong as last year. Carl Junction was about the same..better on defense this year, not as good as on offense.

From a WC perspective I can say that some years the West was a meat grinder. In 2014 Kearney and Helias both had teams that many seasons would win state but WC was as good as ever been.

What I would say is that teams in the West might be more flawed than past years but a team like Harrisonville is playing its best ball of the year and Kearney is the team to beat this year until someone proves otherwise.

One West semifinalist, Harrisonville, had a three game losing streak which included a running clock loss and two losses to teams not even in the top 10. Also, would 2016 Kearney beat 2015 Kearney or Webb City?

With that being said, I still would predict a Kearney over Harrisonville final but I'm just saying the two East teams have a better shot this year.

Defense at K is not as quick as last year and you don't just up and replace a player like Cale Garrett. That being said it isn't as bad as some of the scores have looked..............cannot emphasize enough how lethal that Platte County offense was just ask Harrisonville. The offense flipped like a light switch after the second half of the Staley game. It is humming like a well oiled machine right now and SR WR Jess Davis is playing at a very high level as is the QB.

Overall not as good as last year defensively but better offensively. Time, as always, will tell.

class 4 teams until now. They have never played MICDS who played Webb couple
years back or Westminster or Clayton. Those are the teams that been representing
St. Louis they don't play class 5 schools like North. Now Ladue is unusual class 4
team for St. Louis very seldom does a class 4 team from St. Louis have that kind

Kearney down on offensive line compared to years gone by but lethal on passing "if" QB has time to throw.

You do realize that Kearney is in the Suburban Conference in Kansas City. They do play good class 5 teams. Obviously Webb City's history is such that they play class 5 and on occasion class 6 teams as well. They both are conditioned to good competition.

Haha...KC has three of the top rated class 5 teams every year. Schools like Kearney and Platte County in Class 4 play them...

Yeah I said the exact same thing last night both at the Staley game and here. They just flat lack speed on the edge and it keeps biting them. Many of those sweep runs that went either the distance or for major yardage today would never have happened last year. Problem is who is out there with a true D left?

Sure they do. They get knocked out in the semi round every year.
