Did I miss the conversation about the start of Harrisonville's season - this seems like a tough of a 4 game stretch that I can find

Harrisonville

8/24 Kearney
8/31 @ Maryville
9/7 @ Blue Valley Northwest
9/14 Columbia Battle

Strap it on boys.

Kearney's is a LITTLE bit tougher...

@ Harrisonville 8/24
@ Staley 8/31
Platte County 9/27

But they do get Tonka cupcake in Game 4 to recover.

That is also Class 5 champ Staley's home opener thus K gets to see them

With Benny Palmer as the new HC. Honestly scheduling like this early is smart. For me the regular season is just window dressing for the FB that really matters.

Do the first 9 games really matter? Ask the Harrisonville '16 team .

They did something similar back in 2010. I saw their opener hosting Helias Catholic and came away thinking they were a long way from C4 contention. I kinda use the regular season (first time in six years I will get to attend every Friday night) the way I think some programs do..........evaluate talent and study how teams evolve heading into the games everyone remembers years down the road.

If I remember right, Harrisonville in 2016 had a lot of position changes...assignment changes, and consolidated to using the core players going both ways. They went from fumbler bumblers to champs.

Injury riddled regular season (included a 49-0 loss to Platte County). It was probably the most impressive turnaround I've ever seen in 40+ years following this sport. How you get kids, regardless of returning players, to buy in after getting pasted like that says a lot about their coaching staff and kids. Great, great lesson for everyone because RESILIENCY is the key to success in life...........

A Harrisonville thread turns into a (gasp!) Karnee thread. How typical.

Well, it was a WAY down year for Class 4 in 2016. Even the computer recognizes that: 2015 Keaney or 2014 WC would have smoked Harrisonville's 2016 team.

[2015] Kearney (MO) 31, [2016] Harrisonville (MO) 7
[2014] Webb City (MO) 38, [2016] Harrisonville (MO) 3

I guess then what you are trying to say is, if it was a down year for the entire class, Class 4, then Harrisonville still was the best team for that season, even though it was a down year for them too. So 2014 Webb City, and 2015 Kearney really has no bearing on the 2016 Wildcats, regardless of what any computer recognizes.

No doubt, the best team of 2016. And champions that came through a lot of adversity. No one can take that away from them.

You guys lost to an unranked (giggle) St. Joe team. Poor Karnee. Trying so hard to stay relevant.
