Advisory Committee Press Release...

Sure, contract from 6 classes to 5, then pull our the privates, and create two for them.

Why go to 5? Stay at 6 and balance out the classes. Would be 46-47 per class and helps with the class 1 problem.

Can’t wait to see the Blair Oaks/Jeff City and Webb City/Joplin co-ops win state every year!!

10th game for those that lose in week 9 seems like it won’t pass…

So 60% of those polled want to take a game away from the kids...

No need for a week 10 game 60% of coaches in Missouri support that.....

What am I missing? Why are so many in favor of shortening the season?
I would like to hear from some of the coaches that support that. The basketball and wrestling coaches are just chomping at the bit now, that is one extra week they can add to thier already too long seasons.

How about real dead time? Carving out a couple of dead weeks is crazy. There should be no contact from the end of Spring Sports until August. No games until September. We have gone off the rails.

100% but Baseball Wrestling and Basketball take up more time year over year.

They should not take a game away. Keep 9 regular season games, and don't let everyone in the playoffs. Top 4 teams in each district is plenty. If they are worried about being done on Thanksgiving weekend, then get rid of the jamborees and start the season then. I know the argument will be that it's too hot. Take the proper precautions, extra time outs for water, etc. Taking a game away is not the answer.

Been trying to figure this out myself. I would have to guess that MSHAA had better ticket sales over the holiday weekend with a majority of people being off. But that really doesn't explain why people on the advisory board would vote that way.

Read closer. Theses numbers are from the area meetings, which are attended by administrators, and not from the Advisory Committee.
