Who ya got? Has the potential to be a good game. Seneca has the size to match up but will a lack of big game experience be the difference?

I think Lamar gets shell shocked early by yet another Class 3 contender from the Big 8 (ala Monett last year), but finds a way to pull away in the second half

Lamar wins this game going away.
Seneca is talented, but Coach Bailey and staff win not let their team be caught flat-footed.
However, I believe that this is the last year of dominance for the Tigers and next year the Indians win the season matchup

That is sort of the way I see it. Seneca keeps it close for a half. Lamar pulls away late. I think it be the best challenge other than s state semifinal match-up that Lamar sees all year.

I'm not gonna try to predict the outcome, but the weather will be perfect, the old stadium atmosphere will be festive, and the hamburgers wonderful. A fun evening will be shared by all.
I see that you mentioned hamburgers. I like to eat. Will there be any other noteworthy food being served at the stadium???

Ol' McFarland on a farm has no chance in this game. No big game experience for the Indians... Seneca will lay an egg. Lamar 42-14

I have two questions.

Is Lamar healthy? If so the clock will be running in the second half.

Will there be fried onions and taters at concessions, if so nobody will want to sit next to Bosko.

Lamar lost their starting QB (well 1/2 of their starting QBs in their offense) for the year. The replacement has played well however.

As much as I would like to see Coach McFarland pull it off I cant see it happening. Would love to see Pierce City,,,Lamar,,,,Seneca,,Webb City all in Columbia over Thanksgiving.

Pierce City only team that hasn't been to the show recently

Very good possibielty that CJ, Lamar, Seneca and Pierce City wins in teh Dome. Southwest Mo DOMINENCE!

I can see this game being closer than the majority think. Lamar by a td 28-21.

PC and Sarcoxie have neither made it to a state title game. Good year as any to start though!

It's humorous (or odd) to me how some people can struggle with the concept that a team in one class could be so competitive with schools in the next class up.

Every Friday there's class 1 teams playing 2, or 4 playing 5, or even 4 playing 6, etc. There are larger class 3 schools losing to smaller class 3 schools, sometimes with larger enrollment discrepancies than some bigger class 4 school vs one of the smaller class 5 schools.

Lamar has a larger roster in terms of both quantity and height/weight than many class 4 schools. There's a commitment there to the program which is now feeding off of itself.

Success on the field isn't tied to school enrollment. Congrats to Lamar for what they've been able to sustain, and kudos to Seneca for the rebuild there and the 8-0 start.

How many years have people been saying that :)
It's funny I was thinking the same thing when I saw your reply. Every year I hear "Lamar is done", even by some in Lamar. How can you replace Beshore, Bailey x2, Peterson, Tucker, Embry, Hardman, Wilkerson, Boice, etc..? When will people get it, it's not about one, two, or three players. It's a system that builds a team through the commitment of each player and coach. To be honest anyone could do it, but few will put in the work and time that it requires. I don't know if Lamar will win a 7th straight. I do know if they don't, whoever knocked them off earned it.

Since Maryville beat them in semifinal. lol

Lamar has had a great run. Don't see it ending this year.
You mean Maplewood, right? Even if they had beat them, no way they beat Penney. That's not a slam on Lamar either, that Penney team was special.

I'd say there's still some doubt about this year, and that's a good thing.

This year’s without a doubt gotta be the toughest road to a title for Lamar since the last time they lost in the playoffs (to Maplewood)...

...until next year, of course, when Trinity’s five top 10 recruits are seniors :D

Mits I agree. Why I made that comment. I have to give the edge to Lamar, but this game will be closer than last year. I'm interested to see if Trinity learned anything from the championship game last year. Trinity was the more talented team last year. Lamar more physical and disciplined. I don't think Lamar has quite the talent as last year and Trinity more. Should be very interesting. This is in the Semi's this year isn't it?

Yes; praying it will be in Lamar so I can go!

It most likely won't be. Trinity is not the #1 seed in their district, so they probably will have hosted less games. Also, it's an odd year, so top half of bracket tiebreaker favors them as well. If these two meet, it will be in St. Louis.
So it would favor Luthran North hosting a matchup with Lamar too, wouldn’t it?

If Lamar went on the road in the quarterfinal game and Trinity or Lutheran North hosted their quarterfinal game, then the semi game would be at Lamar as I interpret the rules.
