After waiting MONTHS for help, with food lines growing & people unable to pay utilities, the Senate passed a bill with no retroactive unemployment benefits & relief checks for a meager $600. But Joel Osteen got his 4.4 million in PPP money and Space Force gets over $15 billion next year. Happy Holidays from the #GOP.

I still haven't figured out what happened to the treaty we and several other countries signed years ago that said we would NOT weaponize space. I don't recall anyone pulling out of it and not us for sure. Surely that would have made every news cast for days if it had happened. We've been dependent on the Russians to fly our folks to the space station for years until Mr. Gazzionaire came along and said he could do it. How the heck are we going to run anything like a fighting force in space?
 
They're talking about a military coup right now and if it doesn't happen we're going to be told the best way to heal is pretending it never happened. This is how abuse works.

3,000 people are dying a day and after nearly a year of this Congress is releasing the barest fraction of the economic relief needed to keep people safe and only in exchange for the promise that we can't sue those who endangered the dead. This is how abuse works.

We have a president who spent 4 yrs lying every time he opened his mouth, obvious lies everyone knew were lies, which his followers believed mostly because the sight of them believing lies caused the rest of us distress, and they loved our distress. This is how abuse works.

We ain’t going to forgive and forget, bruh. There will be punishment.

I hear ya, oldballer. I know so many people who never lost a paycheck or even a dime over the pandemic. And I know several small business owners who got a small business check who never missed a day's work even during the shutdown. Of course I'll take another check. I realize everyone gets a check in the interest of fairness, but I almost feel that the majority of the stimulus money should go the the desperate people and small businesses that have been devastated. It shouldn't be that hard to prove that you lost money this year. Do people making over $200K this year really need a $600 handout?

Yes the payments are means tested. My daughter makes too much to qualify. And yes, it would be nice if they had been able to only get money to the people who really need it. My wife and I haven’t lost income due to the pandemic. Our share could have helped others more.

I don’t remember round old baller EVER piping in about Kanye getting millions or Jared’s family raking in PPP money or Joel Osteen or relatives of congresspeople under Trump’s “oversight”.
Those “HANDOUTS” are a little more bothersome to folks I know.

But that $600 going to some folks living off of their SS really gets his goat. Realistically, the “handouts” from earlier this year saved our economy from completely going down the tubes.

It's not just money to help those that are out of a job, they are counting on those who get the $600 will spend it and help the economy. I'm bettin my wife will do just that with our $1200 :p

Totally agree, my wife and I are both teachers, certainly not rich but make about 135,00 together. Luckily, we haven't missed a paycheck nor been affected financially. After this one, we will have been given over $6,000 from the govt. Don't get me wrong, it has been nice to pay off bills and invest the rest, but it certainly wasn't needed. Assume the theory is it would be too hard to determine who needs and who doesn't need the money?

I see on facebook and other places people raising hell about spending. foreign aid, etc. tied to it. Stuff like that was actually tied to another spending bill, then there was a 900 billion COVID relief bill. Funny the folks raising hell don't mention the 1.375 billion for border wall for 56 miles of border wall construction (24.5 million per mile!).

I don't understand why we are having any foreign aid right now. Use those billions for our vets, homeless, etc. If I am broke, I don't loan cousin Bob money. Same should apply to our govt.

I hate playing the lesser of two evils but there is a huge difference in what Dems wanted and what Pubs allowed. Just can't understand no money for desperate restaurants and pubs with all this waste. At least camouflage the waste with something needed!

Dems wanted 1.2 trillion, Trump wanted 2.1 trillion, McConnell wanted 500 billion and some of his people didn't want anything.
