Why are you calling it the Lincoln College Prep Twelve Courts of Christmas? Lincoln Prep is not the host.
I couldn't locate any information on who the host school for the shootout was so I assumed it was Lincoln Prep since I believe it's in their school zone. Is this hosted by a private school instead like Greenwood does with the Pink & White Girls Tournament?
There is no school hosting. It is hosted by Hy-Vee Arena. They are the organizers of the shootout. It is simply referred to as Twelve Courts of Christmas Shootout.
I've never heard of a shootout before with no school hosting. They announced that it was a MSHSAA sanctioned event pregame. You mean to tell me that it's just some person out there that decided to charge ten dollars for a basketball game as well as charging money for game programs. On top of that, they don't have an announcer during the gameplay and barely have working scoreboards. Sounds a bit greedy to me. Where is all of this money going to if it's not going to the host school? It's a neat concept, but horribly executed shootout.
NCMC Holiday Hoops in Trenton is not hosted by any high school. St. Joseph Area Sports Hall of Fame Holiday Hoops at Civic Arena is also not hosted by any high school. I also think there is one at MACC in Moberly and one at John Woods in Quincy, IL that also are not hosted by high schools. I see it all the time not being hosted by high schools.
