I think a lot of the votes are in prior to the final games. Usually the ones that have good games in the first 2 get the award so votes were in prior to Rays big game. He needed that, he’s had some rough games. Very talented player.

Any tournaments I've ever been to, and that's a LOT, want the votes in by halftime of the championship game. No reason do it any sooner than that.

Problem is most coaches are leaving after their games. So the 7th and 8th place coaches etc aren’t there until halftime of the championship game. Hence why I said the first 2 games have more weight

Do they have the coaches vote? Any I know of have about 8 people who will be in the crowd for every game that do the voting. I have been one of those in the past at the Twin Rivers girl's tournament and a time or two at 3Rivers when they actually had tournaments with a winner instead of just a "classic" where all the teams play each other whether you win or lose. The voters at the PB Showdown are always folks in the crowd that will be there for the whole thing.

The coaches may have a vote at the ones around here but 6 or 8 fans in crowd that volunteer or get asked to do it and they hand in the their votes by halftime of the championship game. Why would you want to vote on an all tourney team after 2 games?

Usually have a committee vote in bigger tournaments. A lot of times it is hard to get all the best players on the team when you have 8 teams and 8 spots. That makes the list more impressive (not everyone gets a consolation prize). It can get watered down (I think the Machens tourney added spots this year- they went to 12 players on the all-tourney team.) Tyrique Brooks has a very high ceiling and will be a player to watch for next year as a SR.
