2019 DeSmet vs Best MO Teams Last 10 Years (Calpreps)

One of the more popular Threads from last week is best teams from the Decade were of course people started to bring in teams NOT in the last 10 years

Got me thinking how would DeSmet from this year match up with some of the all time MO Teams.

According to Calpreps:

2019 DeSmet vs

2018 CBC = 36 to 35 CBC wins
2017 CBC = 31 to 24 DeSmet wins
2015 Webb City = 28 to 17 DeSmet wins
2015 BS South = 31 to 21 DeSmet wins
2014 Webb City = 28 to 24 DeSmet wins

I think most have the 2013 Blue Springs and 2018 CBC as the 2 best teams this Decade.

I know a lot of people don't think of calpreps as a reliable simulation model, but I'd wager it gets more right than it gets wrong. That's a pretty strong showing for this year's DeSmet team

Joplin had the pleasure of getting knocked out by the 2 of the best teams in the last decade.
I went to both games and I can say that I'm a much bigger fan of De Smet than I am of CBC. They had way more class on and off the field.

Look at everyone living in imaginary land. Too bad we won’t ever know, because ya know? This is stat projections, and none of it is decided on the field.
 
As someone with a minor in statistics (laugh all you want) I can tell you there is some validity to the Calpreps model comparing 2019 to 2019.

Comparing different years has absolutely ZERO validity. So try this, STOP IT.

Uh just reporting the Calpreps side of things, its just projections. Even though their is little dispute with the results for people who've seen these teams play

yea joplins best teams back to back in forever and they got to play cbc and desmet back to back. they didn't have much chance vs cbc but desmet was a game they could of won.
