2018-2019 season

Who else is ready for the season? Teams/Players/newcomers to watch??

Ready for basketball for sure!! There should be some improved teams around the mid Missouri area. I see Jefferson City, Rolla, and St. James being improved. Licking will be good again. Stafford, West Plains .and Kickapoo will all be a hand full. Just to list a few from my area.

I know some of these teams lost some key players last year. Are any of them adding anyone new, that can make a contribution?

I might be off on Jeff City now that you mention it I think they lost their big girl? St. James I believe has almost everyone back? Licking still has their all state guard for two more years. Strafford will be good. Rolla returns 4 starters and adds a good Freshman class. Kickapoo was young and big, I believe they will add a good freshman as well. I have heard West Plains is pretty decent but did not see them this summer?

Post player will be a SR. for JC this year.

If she is back I would say they will be pretty good? I think they have a couple pretty decent guards and her younger sister that is fairly tall and they are well coached.
They will be very good this year if they stay healthy. Next year we will see who goes where because of school splitting, but core group will be good for next 4 years.

Blackwell from Whitfield
Mosby from Dexter
Cable from Oran
Frank from Strafford
Diestelkamp from Owensville

Dexter returns everybody but one.
Licking, Whitfield, Strafford in class 3
Dexter, IWA in class 4

Class 5 North KC is going to be very strong. Class 4 Benton returns 4 starters from a team that was knocked out by Kearney who gave IWA all they wanted in the semi's. I also think Nevada is going to be strong in 4A returns a whole team of sophomores (now juniors) that made a run last year. Maryville has a D1 sophomore that will help carry them in 3A.

In mid-mo I believe Hermann returns the core of a 20+ win team, Blair Oaks returns the core of a 22 win team, Fatima returns the core of a 20 win team. California and Boonville will also be as tough as usual.

I would agree. Boonville will have some new faces that will help out this year.

Mount Vernon will be led by a very deep and talented senior class this year, but unfortunately for them they share a district with Strafford.

Districts will not be announced until Nov. 9th. They may or may not share a district this year...Clever is another VERY strong team from that area.

Strafford and clever have been in the same district the past few years… Mount Vernon and Strafford have seen each other at sectionals the past two years

I hope c3d9 gets broken up. Two years ago, 4 of the top 6 teams ranked was in that district.

Spread them out!

It was still strong last year but not as strong as the year before

Here is a win total for teams in Class 3 District 9 over the last two years:

Blair Oaks - 33-18
Dixon 21-28
Fatima - 38-17
Hermann - 41-14
South Callaway - 41-10
Southern Boone - 32-23
St. James - 40-14
Tolton - 37-15

Pretty darn strong district!
