2017 Class 2 MFCA All State

Just saw the MFCA All state list... not one Trinity player on 1st, 2nd, or 3rd team..

Is that just because they didn't make it past districts, or what could the reason be for that? It seems with all the top prospects they have surely someone would have gotten a nod. Just struck me as odd, but I wasn't sure what all criteria went into the selections

I would guess Trinity's coach ain't part of the "good ole boys" club.

I believe the reason would be that in order for players from a school to be picked All State by the football coaches association...the head coach must be a member of the coaches association and must be there or have directed somebody to nominate his players at the meeting.

well their coach couldn’t even win their district with an all star team of d1 kids. Now he doesn’t even nominate his kids for recognition.

BTW, Scott Bailey is clearly the best Class 2 coach in the state, but my feelings wouldn’t have been hurt if Dan Swofford of Ava had been chosen as Class 2 coach of the year for 2017.

Trinity Catholic did not join the Missouri Football Coaches Association so none of the Trinity Catholic Athletes were eligible to receive All District or All State Honors from MOFBCA.

Why? There’s a difference between Best coach and coach of the year? I have ties with the Lamar community and think the world of Bailey, but I can also see Ava’s coach winning coach of the YEAR this year.

Totally agree. Couldn’t have been more impressed by Ava, hard hitting tough kids.
