2014 TEAM MVP JHONNY PERALTA

Wins Above Replacement doesn't mean much when Dirty Dan is your replacement. Lol. I didn't like the signing when they did it, but I can't argue it now. He's been huge for the birds this year.

WAR doesn't reference a specific player as a "replacement". Just a league average replacement. And by that benchmark, JHoney is well above that average replacement player. I've been shocked at how capable dude is with the glove. Always knew he could rake.

Take a look at Jay's stat line compared to Wong. Once you get past AVG and OBP, their lines are nearly identical.

Peralta has been much better than advertised defensively at SS and no doubt and an upgrade offensively at SS from what we had. What I don't get is everybody gushing about his offense when he has been AWFUL with RISP, he has 21 HR's but only 69 RBI and some of same people are usually bitching about Holliday not getting the job done. Just doesn't add up.

Eagle I realize you don't like AVG but OBP is pretty important stuff. I'd say a .293 career MLB hitter is a pretty good stat too.
