1971 Richmond vs. Fulton Class 3A State title game video

I seem to remember reading somewhere in my decades of research that this game ended in controversy and Fulton filed a protest or something, but I don't remember the specifics.

Linvil Elliott graduated in 1969 and played for the 49ers in the Super Bowl. Don't think the Bengals have ever won a super bowl

The Fulton faithful still to this day say they were robbed. They claim that when the Fulton Head Coach asked who the flag was on...they have him the number of a player who wasn't even on the field for that play.

Didn't Richmond have Lenvil Elliott...RB who played at Northeast Missouri State (now Truman State) and later played in the Super Bowl with the Bengals?
Not sure Fulton had much to complain about, with the game being played in Fulton. :)

Super Bowl XVI Champion
Lenvil started with the Bengals. Played for the 49er's during one of their championship seasons.

Super Bowl XVI Champion

In the 1981 postseason, he played a key role in the 49ers' NFC Championship Game victory over the Dallas Cowboys on January 10, 1982 at Candlestick Park after being activated just a week earlier after a knee injury. Elliott rushed four times for 31 yards on the 49ers' 89-yard final drive, culminating in "The Catch", Dwight Clark's famous six-yard touchdown reception from Joe Montana with 51 seconds left in the game. Elliott suited up but did not play (due to his knee injury) but he earned a Super Bowl ring in the 49ers' victory over his old team, the Cincinnati Bengals.

Following Super Bowl XVI, he retired. He finished his career with 1,900 yards rushing, 1,484 yards receiving, and 18 total touchdowns (eight rushing and 10 receiving).
