Total strikeouts in baseball have gone up 13 years in a row. In the history of the game no statistical category has ever done that before.

We have been discussing this, but there are fewer balls in play (action) every year.
What needs to be done?

Take the air out of the ball so it doesn't leave the park so easily. Maybe some would quit swinging for the fence and just try to get on base.

Automate the K zone for sure. Maybe lower the mound. Ball is fine, IMHO.

If they lower the mound that's gonna help knock down HR's? If they lower it again Bob Gibson may not make it to opening day next cause he'll have a stroke.

My bad! Meant raise it back up.

I say move it back two feet. I want fewer K's and more action.

Yeah I ain't convinced all these guys are throwing what the gun says. I remember at the beginning of last season they said the way they clock pitches changed and it might add a couple mph to what some are throwing. Something about where they shoot the gun, right out of the hand or farther down the line. Then along comes Hicks breaking 100mph consistently and other guys jumping up too the high 90's all the time.
