At least100. Carthage looks to have some good potential if they can get all the kinks worked out. Opening the game with two penalties and a turnover wasn't great but have had some solid moments. Penalties have hurt both teams really.
13-9 carthage at half after a carthage goofed punt to give up a safety then called for an offensive pass interference, ended what looked to be a late score to extend the lead going into half.

Confusing finish to the game. Carthage recovers the onside kick with 50 seconds left and the official signals 1st down for Carthage, but gives the ball to Ozark. -3 turnover margin and a safety did Carthage in though.

It was Carthage's game...they had a terrible first possession with 2 penalties and a fumble, but quickly righted the ship and took the lead. Struggled to finish drives through most of the second half for various reasons. Defense was easily fooled on some very long 3rd downs that should have resulted in a punt or turnover on downs situation and then on the flip side, Carthage failed on some conversions that I'm used to seeing them get almost automatically.
Until the last 50 seconds of the game, the headline was turnovers. Unfortunately all that Carthage fans will remember is the officiating that ended the game. Down by 13 with about 2:20 to go, Carthage drives ~70 yards and scores with about 50 seconds left. Onside kick appears successful, Carthage fans cheering, feeling momentum for an epic comeback, but then one official gives initial signal Ozark ball, saying it didn't go 10 yards. Then an official signals Carthage ball, then reverses. Ball is spotted on the 50 yard line, 10 yards from the kickoff. Carthage fans go ballistic, everyone yelling "that's 10 yards!". A ref quickly runs out and moves the ball backwards to the 49 yard line and game over. It was handled so clumsily that one of the teams was going to feel cheated no matter what and it happened to be Carthage.
But the turnovers are the reason they were trying to orchestrate 14pts on the last posession instead of running out the clock.
Carthage has some good potential and moved the ball extremely well at times, but does have a lot of work to do to get ready for Webb City and the rest of the COC.
So there's no confusion, does this make Carthage 0-1 or 1-1 after their big jamboree win?
There was several very questionable calls in the Webb ..CJ game tonight as well. The one that sticks out to me is CJ has 3rd and over 10 from around Webb's 40. Throw a pass receiver briefly catches it and is immeadiatly popped and the ball hits the ground and Webb picks it up . Should have been an incomplete pass however they somehow ruled it a catch in which case it should have been a fumble ...Somehow cj got a first down and drive continued .I'm guessing? They ruled catch and down by contact ? It was clearly an incomplete pass to me . cj later scored on that drive.

Was the pass thrown backwards....I am not sure but it may have been ruled a fumble. Surely the refs saw the ball hit the ground.
I think you're probably right. Both teams have reason to be optimistic. If they can leave the penalties (Ozark) and turnovers (Carthage) back in week one where they belong, this would be a very good rematch in post season.
