This is the best team Carthage has played this year and it’s not even close. Defense is doing well but Carthage is so outgunned while on offense. When they line up it looks like fh has about 6-8” over every player!

The score going into half and more good defense at least should let them go into half knowing it is not over yet!

Played likely the 4th best team regardless of class today and it easily could've been a lot worse but they didn't stop fighting. Good season for the Tigers. It's been a lot of fun watching the senior class over the last 4 years. Gall has clearly been the best player in class 5 and one of if not the most important team piece in the entire state.

No matter which team won, they absolutely deserve to be in the state finals. It's been 40 years since any GAC school has won state. Howell has a chance to change that and win their first state championship. I couldn't be at the game today but I will be at the game next Friday. I can't wait.

As an aside, Francis Howell was almost called Francis Howell South around the time Francis Howell North opened but the school's alumni convinced the school district to not change the name.

I'm still confused about all of the geography with Francis Howell. I thought Francis Howell was the team in Saint Charles and the team that played today was the Spartans from Weldon Spring, but then there's a Francis Howell North that is also in Saint Charles and then Saint Charles has two additional schools of their own named after the city of Saint Charles?

I watched the coin toss and the Francis Howell guys looked liked they were from an NFL team.

Francis Howell was around first. Francis Howell North opened in 1988, I believe. Francis Howell Central opened for the 1997-1998 school year. Francis Howell Central's mascot is the Spartans. The St. Charles school district is more in the northeast part of St. Charles County, where a lot of the homes are older.

Francis Howell High School's boundary is more spread out than the other two schools. It includes Weldon Springs, Defiance, Augusta, New Melle and parts of St. Charles, that are along the Missouri River. Francis Howell Central gets students from St. Peters and Dardenne Prairie and Howell North gets kids from parts of St. Peters and St. Charles.

So there's a Francis Howell Central in Saint Charles that is the Spartans and another Francis Howell (no direction) that is the Vikings?

That sounds complicated. Carthage boundaries are roughly 10 miles in each direction from Carthage. Carthage gets its students from Carthage and the northern triangle.

Joking aside congrats to your Vikings they are without a doubt one of the best teams I’ve seen in awhile. No one has stimied Carthage offense like that in probably a few years. The last I can think of maybe Staley in 2016 or whenever that was. I’ll be rooting for your guys next week!
