No. 9 Licking eeked out a 26-25 win at Willow Springs (4-10) Jan. 8.
and Jan. 13 blew out home team Steelville 52-23 after taking a 33-11 halftime lead.
Why is Class 3 Buffalo ranked as a Class 4 school?
Why no Steve Frank after moving northward from Seymour. A three point loss to Ash Grove in sectionals last year stopped their first state playoff action since 1976. Three consecutive final day finishes, the last two with wins since joining the Pink and White Tournament in 2012-13.
Strafford losses, they have returned the favor winning over Springfield Catholic and Stockton.
Strafford plays game two of six straight on the road Thursday night at Marionville. Next week Strafford plays in the Empire Bank Lady Cat Classic with a chance to meet 2 Logan-Rogersville or 3 Marshfield in the championship Friday.
Strafford is set to host the Lady Jays, Jan. 31. The Lady Indians are assisted by Bolivar alum Allison Curts (Rader).
"I've said all along that you don't want to go through a season when you're never close in a game," John Calipari said. "You don't learn about your team. You need to be down 10 or 12 and see how they respond. You need to be in overtime games where they've got to really lock down and be efficient offensively and make free throws or create good shots."
