Heck of a run for WP

Last 4 years:

2020: 27-2 , lost by 8 in QF to CJ
2021: 28-4 , State Runner-Up
2022: 27-4 , State Champs
2023: 24-8 , State 3rd Place

106-18 over the last four years, four district titles, 3 sets of state hardware.

Womack ends the season with 616 career victories as a head coach. ALL at West Plains

Graduating 5 of the Top 7 for WP and 3 starters.

Luckily, both returning starters for next year will have multiple years of varsity starting experience and both averaged in double figures this year for WP

C4-5-6 Final Four predictions (more guesses) and notes

Now we get to teams I follow at least fairly closely across MO:

C4 - Vashon over Park Hills Central
. Wolverines need no intro and I doubt there is anyone out there who would disagree with picking them to win it all here. The other semi will be closer but I like PHC (they, along with Vashon, are going for the rare Boys-Girls double). Normally don't pick the 3rd place game but Father Tolton is also really outstanding should win that one.

C5 - Cardinal Ritter over Jefferson City
. Like a number of these State finalists Ritter has played a very demanding slate and has a number of quality wins on the resume. I actually think both of these semis could be tight have been on the Pembroke bandwagon all season locally and Ladue's win over Westminster to get here should not be dismissed as it could be a momentum builder.

C6 - Staley over Kickapoo. This final is actually a Bass Pro rematch that wasn't close this one may not be, either. Normally I say beware blowout rematches but these Falcons, an absolute all star team, survived their major local test vs. Oak Park I see them rolling this weekend. The Kickapoo-Troy semi could be extremely tight and is must watch this Friday.

C4-5-6 predictions (guesses) and notes

C4: Vashon over St. Joseph Benton. Wolverines get the rare double and maybe easily this weekend. The Benton-Park Hills Central is total apples-oranges and a guess based on nothing more than tradition as the Cards contend virtually every year.

C5: Carl Junction over West Plains. This could be an absolute classic as the defending champs rolled to the Final Four while Carl has been the most consistent winner in this class all season long and dominated a very good league. I don't see either semi being single digits, either.

C6: Incarnate Word over Columbia Rock Bridge. Nothing more needs to be said here as MO C6 deals with National top 5 IWA.
