With summer hoops coming to an end I thought we could look at a few of the top Class 2-3 teams in the area.

Figured that this might give us something to talk about to pass the time here in the dog days of summer.

I know PC and Miller have a lot of starters back from last year. I was wondering what the other teams have coming back. Pierce City has to be the favorite though. I think the conference as a whole should be better this year.

In the long list of things I don’t understand in life, what is the point of the rule that you can’t scoop and score a muffed punt? Any thoughts?

I know you don’t really win a jamboree. Coaches have different strategies going into them. But who looked good in the various jamborees?

What are the biggest changes for the new year?

Blair Oaks, defending champs, moved from Class 2 to Class 3.

Eureka moves to Class 5.

Raytown and Ruskin both move down to Class 4.

Lutheran North football @CoachReed314told me today that star players Antonio Doyle, Itayvion Brown and Trayvion Ford have more than 100 D1 football scholarships, between the three of them. There are potentially 20 D1 players on Coach Reed's St. Louis-area team.

So it appears that there is some video out there of teams hitting bags before the official day to hit bags. Wonder if the state will do anything? If they don't, then why have the rules if they don't get enforced?

Head Football Coach Tony Severino has announced his retirement from Rockhurst following the 2019 season. This is his 50th year as an educator, and 37th forming young men at Rockhurst High School. We are blessed to have Coach Sev in our lives. AMDG
