UNLV QB Hijacks the Season or Did he?...Welcome to new world of College Football

Dayum! That's not even FCS money, bro...no wonder.

“Former UNLV QB Matthew Sluka’s NIL representation, Marcus Cromartie of Equity Sports, told ESPN that Sluka was verbally promised a minimum of $100,000 from a UNLV assistant coach for transferring there,” ESPN’s Pete Thamel reported on Wednesday. “None of that money was paid, per Cormartie.”

Not saying it's right by any means, but believing a verbal agreement from an assistant coach seems like a bad idea in general

Georgia Ballot counting change is GOOD

It could take 3 or 4 days to count all of those ballots by hand, and when the numbers start coming in on smaller precincts, someone will declare victory and ignore the larger voting blocks that will come in much later after they are all counted.
That’s another thing,,,it’s damn near impossible to count votes and verify in less than 24 hours. No results from anywhere should be released until like Friday at 5pm to take pressure off of poll workers and give them time to do their job

Somewhere there's a truth. Sad reality for UNLV, it could be this simple. He gets his $3K from the universities collective. An assistant, with no negotiating power, tells him he can get $100K in NIL money. It doesn't pan out for whatever reason. Now you've got a big ole mess. Seems to me there's enough money in Vegas to get this kid paid the $100K. He's certainly marketable through a few weeks.
BINGO! You would think Boosters would come up with that little bit of money. Leads me to believe that somebody is in his ear to make more money elsewhere! Why not, it is not that he is NFL material.

Every time it does, it likely will be because of one of three scenarios.

Scenario 1

The player and the school’s collective agreed to X dollars over a time period. The collective actually paid Y dollars, with Y being a number lower than X.

Scenario 2

The player and the school’s collective agreed to X dollars over a time period. The collective paid X dollars as agreed upon, but the player had some success on the field and decided he now wants Z dollars. Z, of course, is a larger number than X.

Scenario 3

The player and the school’s collective agreed to X dollars over a time period. The collective paid X dollars as agreed upon, but the player had some success on the field and suddenly representatives of other schools are reaching out to the player (or his agent) and suggesting the player could make Q dollars if he redshirts this season and comes to their school next year. Q, of course, is a larger number than X.
Seems more like a scenario 2 thing. I get leaving by rule players can redshirt if played in or up to 4 games in the NCAA football season. My confusion to this whole thing is why even play if you're so concerned about the all mighty dollar. So I feel it's scenario 2 for that reason. If it is scenario 1 it is clearly a story of common practice across all college football. Lie to kids, tell them what they want, they play, you never have to hold your end because admin at the college level won't be held liable for loose lips of another.

Are carl reed and erick linked somehow?
First of all, why is he listening to an assistant coach? Sounds like Dad/Agent made a bad deal there. Wonder if he hit the casinos and the ole agent didn't know he got the money? LOL
