11-1 a season ago, a 7-6 playoff loss to Osceola saw the Viking season end earlier than they would have liked. Veteran head coach Larry Burchett who notched his 200th career victory last season guides a veteran Viking team into the new season.

"We have to replace a lot of
good players, but we return 7 starters on defense and
have our top receivers, and two returning running backs", commented Burchett. "If we stay healthy we could be a good team."

On offense the Vikings return 6 starters. "We have to replace experience at quarterback and part of the offensive line, but I think we have people to handle the jobs", added Burchett.

Senior running back Clay Dahman(6-2 205) returns as the workhorse for the Viking offense. Senior wide receiver Tanner Yahnig(5-10 175) is a top threat in the spread. Yahnig's work on the perimeter allows Dahman to get things done between the tackles. Senior Tyler Wright will assume the role of starting quarterback, a talented athlete, Wright is a play maker. Other returning starters include:

Jake Lambertz 5'10 185 sr.TE DE,Tyler Wright 6'3
190,DB,Kessler Wood 5'11 300,sr OL DL,Luke Boyer 5'11
188,RB,DB Jr,Kobe Burchett 5'10 215 OL DL,Conner Hayes,K
5'4 145 Jr,Wyatt Mabary 5'10 165 OL

The 4-3 base defense for the Vikings will return 7 starters. Senior defensive back Tyler Wright(6-3 190) is a top player maker on the defensive side and is joined by Dahman (DE), and Yahnig (LB).

The Vikings must again overcome the challenge from a very good Osceola squad in WEMO play, and is ready to avenge their tough defeat in the playoffs.
